Covishield Booster Dose
CEO Adar Poonawalla of the Serum Institute of India revealed that the price of the Covishield prophylactic dosage at private hospitals has been reduced by more than half a day before booster doses become accessible to all Indian adults.
The price of a single medication has been reduced from Rs 600 to Rs 225. Following negotiations with the Centre, the decision was made. Poonawalla also applauded the government for making a third dosage option available to the full adult population, which was previously only available to individuals over 60 and frontline and healthcare professionals.
Over 2.4 crore prophylactic doses have already been delivered to healthcare and frontline workers, as well as individuals over the age of 60, in India.
Poonawalla applauded the Centre's decision to open up booster doses on Friday, calling it a critical and timely measure.
He claimed that those who wanted to travel overseas but didn't have a third dosage were having trouble since numerous nations have put limitations on foreign travellers who didn't have a booster dose.
Poonawalla was alluding to several European Union countries that require overseas travellers to take Covid-19 booster dosages.
