The local administration in Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal on Monday demolished the residence of Sameer Khan, in the presence of police, who is accused of brutally thrashing a youth in the city. The accused has also been booked under National Security Act, state home minister Narottam Mishra told news agency ANI. In a viral video, a youth was seen allegedly being harassed and assaulted by a few miscreants. In the video, it can be seen that the miscreants are asking the boy to bark like a dog and have put a belt around his neck.
"FIR registered under sections of abduction and forced religious conversion in the matter. Six accused including 3 with previous criminal history have been taken into custody by police. NSA invoked against 3 accused with criminal histories," said Bhopal police official Riyaz Iqbal.
The video was shared by a user on Twitter with the caption, “ Faizan, Bilal, Sameer, Mufid, and Sahil brutally thrashed a Hindu boy, Vijay, put a belt around his neck, and forced him to bark like a dog in Bhopal, MP. Dara Hua Visesh Samuday threatened to rape his sister and abuse his mother too”.
Three men have been accused of the thrashing and were taken into police custody on Monday.
Reacting to the viral video, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that Bhopal Police Commissioner has been instructed to take action and probe the incident within 24 hours. Calling the incident grievous, Mishra said that such behaviour towards a human being is highly condemnable.
"I saw that video. I felt like it is a grievous incident. Such a behavior towards a human being is highly condemnable. I have instructed Bhopal Police Commissioner to probe this incident and take action within 24 hours," Narottam Mishra said, as quoted by the news agency ANI.
