Remnants of Cyclone Biparjoy in Rajasthan are receding as the India Meteorological Department on Monday said that there will be a reduction in rainfall in the state from tomorrow, however, very heavy rainfall will continue. “The cyclone remnant is prevailing over northwest Rajasthan, it is a well-marked low-pressure area as of now...Rainfall will decrease in east Rajasthan from tomorrow but it will continue as very heavy rainfall,” said IMD senior scientist, Naresh Kumar on Monday.
Western parts of Madhya Pradesh are expected to receive extremely heavy rainfall which will decrease gradually.
Southwest Uttar Pradesh and Delhi and adjoining regions are also predicted to receive heavy rainfall in the next two to three days which will then decrease.
On Sunday, Rajasthan received over 20 centimetres of rainfall and East Rajasthan might get 20 cm of rainfall on Monday as well, Kumar said.

Western Uttar Pradesh may also receive more than 12 cm of rain, he added. The eastern UP on the other hand is reeling under harsh heatwave conditions which is expected to prevail in a few districts where Orange alert has been issued,
“Heatwave conditions will prevail in a few districts of Eastern UP, for which an Orange alert has been issued. After that, temperature will start falling, bringing relief to the people," Lucknow Meteorological Centre scientist Mohammad Danish told news agency PTI.
Meanwhile, the weather department said that the monsoon is in an active stage in the northeastern states.
Extremely heavy rainfall is expected today and heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted for the next two days in Assam and Meghalaya, IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra told ANI.
Sikkim and sub-Himalayan West Bengal will witness very heavy to heavy rainfall in the next two days. Monsoon has advanced towards Gangetic West Bengal, northeastern part of Jharkhand and adjoining area of Bihar, he added.
