BJP leaders across the country reacted to the Congress party's refusal to attend the upcoming Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. On the decision of Congress, BY Vijayendra said, he was not surprised with the decision of the party to not attend the consecration of Ram temple. While BJP MP Pralhad Joshi said the Congress party was continuously opposing Hindu beliefs for the sake of appeasement, BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav said Anti-Ram and anti-Krishna forces were gaining strength in the country.
According to ANI, BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav said, "Congress opposed the Ram Janmabhoomi right from the beginning...It left no stone unturned in putting all obstacles that it could. They had an opportunity to atone for all their sins and crimes but they lost that opportunity...Citizens of this country are standing with Lord Ram. People whose spirits live somewhere else are against Lord Ram. It is not just Congress alone."
"Akhilesh Yadav refused to even accept the invitation letter...He too had the opportunity to atone for what his father did but he too lost the opportunity. Anti-Ram and anti-Krishna forces are gaining strength in the country. All these are anti-Hindutva forces," he said.
On Congress declining the invitation to attend 'pran pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said, "This is Nehru's Congress, this is not Gandhi's Congress. Mahatma Gandhi used to sing 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram' and today Congress is not attending the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony. This shows Congress is against Hindu religion and Hindutva..."
BJP MP Pralhad Joshi said, "For the sake of appeasement, the Congress party is continuously opposing Hindu beliefs. Whenever the issue of Ram Temple has been raised in the last 2-4 decades, they have always opposed it. They even said Lord Ram was a fictional figure and questioned the Ram Setu... The present Congress party has reached the heights of appeasement. I am not surprised by their decision..."
Congress leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Wednesday "respectfully declined" the invitation to attend the Ram Temple consecration ceremony. Further, the party accused BJP and RSS of making Ram Temple into a "political project" for electoral gain.
Addressing reporters, Karnataka BJP chief Vijayendra told PTI, "The BJP is not surprised by the decision of the Congress. Their intention was very clear from day one. When Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992, the next day BJP ruled state governments were dismissed by the then Congress government. On every occasion, the grand old party has proved that they are against the Rama Janmabhoomi movement."
Accusing them of lack of faith in Lord Ram, Vijayendra alleged that the state government might even backtrack on its earlier decision to hold special temple prayers under the Religious Endowment Department on January 22nd.
He elaborated, "Their motive is transparent. Despite receiving the Ram temple inauguration invitation, the Congress's refusal and reluctance to attend this auspicious event exposes their bitter disappointment with recent developments, particularly the election results in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh."
Further, Vijayendra said, Congress and I.N.D.I.A bloc was upset since they realised that they would not come to power. He added that the Opposition has realised that BJP and PM Modi would create history by coming back to power for the third time.
The consecration ceremony of Ram Temple will be held on January 22.
