Mohammed Asfan, a 30-year-old man from Hyderabad, reportedly coerced into joining the Russian Army due to falling victim to a job fraud, has lost his life in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as confirmed by officials on Wednesday. Asfan's family, in a desperate plea for help, reached out to AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi seeking assistance in bringing him back from Russia.

However, their hopes were dashed when AIMIM contacted the Indian Embassy in Moscow, where officials confirmed Asfan's demise, as per a report of India Today.

In response to the incident, the Indian Embassy in Moscow has taken to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to address the situation. They have expressed condolences over the passing of Indian national Mohammed Asfan and affirmed their commitment to assisting his family during this difficult time.

The Embassy stated that they are actively coordinating with Asfan's family and Russian authorities to facilitate the repatriation of his mortal remains to India. Asfan, along with several others, was reportedly misled by deceptive agents who recruited them as 'helpers' to assist the Russian Army in the ongoing conflict.

This unfortunate incident follows the recent death of a 23-year-old Indian man from Gujarat, who was also working as a 'helper' with the Russian Army during the war with Ukraine, as per India Today.
