Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha review: When you see names like Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Neeraj Pandey, and M.M. Kreem associated with a film, you expect fireworks, excitement, and something new. Unfortunately, ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ does not deliver on these expectations. Despite commendable performances by Ajay Devgn and Tabu, this film falls short.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha plot
Ajay Devgn plays Krishna, who murders two people and is released from prison after 23 years. Outside, his former lover, who is now married, awaits him. The crux of the story lies in why Ajay committed these murders, but revealing this would spoil the plot. If the reason had been compelling, the film might have been better.
How is Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha
The movie is slow from the beginning, attempting to build suspense. While it occasionally succeeds, the anticipation ultimately leads to disappointment. The climax, which should have been a twist, feels more like a betrayal to the audience. Neeraj Pandey, known for better work, fails to meet expectations here. The film lacks anything surprising or impactful, reminiscent of a mediocre 90s film. Ajay Devgn and Tabu have done far superior work in the past.
Acting
Ajay Devgn tries to create suspense with his eyes, and he succeeds to an extent. His performance is good, but strong acting can't compensate for a weak storyline. The same goes for Tabu, a brilliant actress who gives her best effort, but the script lets her down. Jimmy Shergill, who one would expect to bring some excitement, is wasted. Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee M Manjrekar deliver decent performances.
Direction
Neeraj Pandey, who has built a strong reputation with films like 'Special 26', 'A Wednesday', and 'Baby', missed the mark with this film. The twist, which is the backbone of the movie, is unimpressive. The screenplay is weak, and talented actors like Ajay, Tabu, and Jimmy are underutilised.
Music
M.M. Kreem's music is the film's saving grace. The songs are enjoyable and bring some life to the slow-paced movie. Both the lyrics and music are commendable.
If you are a die-hard fan of Ajay Devgn, you might want to watch this film. Otherwise, it might not be worth your time.
