Delhi Gears Up For Classical Music Festival: Check Artiste List

The highly anticipated Shriram Shankarlal Music Festival 2024 will begin this Wednesday, March 27, in New Delhi, with an impressive lineup of renowned artists. The Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra organises the festival, which is now in its seventh decade and features a variety of captivating performances.

The festival, which is scheduled for three consecutive evenings, promises a diverse showcase of Indian classical music. On Wednesday, March 27, attendees can immerse themselves in the melodic strains of flute maestros Pravin Godkhindi and Shadaj Godkhindi at 6:30 pm, followed by Ulhas Kashalkar's soul-stirring Hindustani Classical Vocal rendition at 7:45 pm.

On Thursday, March 28, Manjiri Asanare will deliver an enchanting vocal performance at 6:30 pm, followed by an evocative display of violin mastery by N. Rajam and Sangeeta Shanker at 7:45 pm.

The festival will conclude on Friday, March 29, with a mesmerising sitar performance by Purbayan Chatterjee at 6:30 pm, followed by a captivating vocal presentation by Ajoy Chakrabarty at 7:45 pm.

Reflecting on the festival's significance, Shobha Deepak Singh, Director & Vice Chairperson of Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, expressed her anticipation, inviting attendees to partake in the cultural celebration.

"For seven decades, Shriram Shankarlal Music Festival has served as a platform to celebrate the timeless beauty of Indian classical music," she remarked, as per a press release. "This year's edition fills me with immense pride as we witness the confluence of veteran mastery and youthful brilliance, showcasing the vibrant legacy of our cultural heritage". 

The festival will be held at the Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra Lawns, located on Copernicus Marg in New Delhi. Attendees are encouraged to confirm their attendance at any or all of the performances, with opportunities to interact with Shobha Deepak Singh and the participating artists available prior to the event.
