New Delhi: The holy month of Sawan is going to end soon. The month of Sawan, i.e. Shravan Maas, began on July 25, according to the Hindu calendar. The scriptures have special importance of Sawan Month. It is considered to be the most auspicious month in religious terms.


The entire month of Sawan is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Special worship is performed during this period. It is believed that people who worship lord Shiva in this month, receive special grace. Therefore, the month of Sawan is considered to be the best for worshipping Lord Shiva. 


Moreover, the month of Sawan is considered to be the first month of Chaturmas. There is a Mythological belief that in Chaturmas, Lord Vishnu entrusts all the responsibilities of Prithvi Lok to Lord Shiva and leaves for sleep in Hades. In the month of Sawan, Lord Shiva visits the Prithvi Lok with Maa Parvati, and blesses his devotees. Shiva devotees wait for Sawan Month throughout the year.


Last Day of Sawan Month


According to Panchang, the last day of Sawan is August 22, 2021. This day marks the full moon of shukla paksha of the month of Shravan. The month of Bhadrapada will begin from August 23.


This full moon day is also known as Shravan Purnima. From this day, 40 day Ashtalakshmi Prayog begins. This auspicious puja is considered to be helpful in removing financial issues.

It is considered auspicious to see the moon on the day of Shravan Purnima i.e. Sawan Purnima. On this day, Pitra tarpan also gives auspicious results. Worship and charity have also special importance on the full moon day.
