PAN card is considered an essential document in present times. Many financial or bank-related processes cannot be completed without a PAN card. If you do not plan to visit an office to get your PAN card ready, you can apply for it online. PAN verification can now also be done online. You can complete the entire process of applying for a new PAN card online in a matter of minutes.  


Apply e-PAN Online: 



  • Visit the Income Tax department's website www.incometax.gov.in. Click on the Instant PAN through the Aadhaar option on the homepage.

  • You would then see two options, 'Get a new PAN' and 'Check Status/Download PAN'. You need to click on the 'Get New PAN' option.

  • After that, a new page will open, where you enter your Aadhaar number and the captcha code in the provided spaces.

  • You would then get an OTP on the mobile number linked to your Aadhar card. Enter this OTP and your E-mail ID in the spaces provided. Enter the information required for the PAN card after this.

  • You would then receive your PAN number in a few minutes, which you can then download in PDF format.

  • In order to download your PAN, you need to click on the 'Check Status/Download PAN' option on the same website and then download the PAN card in PDF. If you want to order a hard copy, you can do so by paying Rs. 50.


Who Are Eligible To Apply?


Only those who have an Aadhaar card are eligible to apply for e-PAN. It could be applied for online after completion of Aadhaar-based KYC process. The e-PAN could also be downloaded immediately after approval.
