Good Friday 2022: In the Christian religion, the day of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ by the Romans is considered one of the most important days.


Marking the significance of the day, it is called Good Friday and is one of the most important days in the Holy Week, which begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday.


Good Friday marks the beginning of the end of Holy Week, which is the last week of Lent. The last three days of Holy Week are known as Triduum which commemorates Jesus' trial, death and resurrection.

According to the Biblical scriptures, on Good Friday, the Roman Jewish religious leaders brought Jesus to Rome for sentencing. He was sentenced to crucifixion, considered to be the highest form of criminal punishment in Rome. Christ was beaten, forced to carry a wooden cross and finally nailed to the big cross by wrists and feet.


As per scriptures, his death is regarded as one of the significant events after which he ascended to heaven. It is believed that Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for the sins of people.

Good Friday has a lot of significance in Christianity, it tells that the good always wins even when it has to go through so much suffering as Jesus Christ did for the sake of humanity. Good Friday also reminds us that Jesus loved everyone and was ready to sacrifice his life for humanity.
