Dev Deepawali 2021: The festival of Dev Deepawali is being celebrated across the country today with traditional fervour. It is believed that on this day the deities descend to the earth from heaven to bathe in the Ganges and take a bath at the Ganga Ghat (Varanasi Ganga Ghat) in Varanasi.


The entire ghat is illuminated with diyas to celebrate the arrival of the gods on earth. Not only this, donations and bathing have special significance on this day. It is said that bathing in the holy river on this day destroys sins and one attains salvation after death. 


If one cannot bathe in the holy river, one can add Ganga Jal to the bathwater. On this day, along with Dev Deepawali, Kartik Purnima is also celebrated. 


It is believed that on this day Lord Shiva killed the Tripurasur demon and returned heaven to the gods. If these measures are taken today, you can attract good luck. These measures are beneficial to get rid of money-related problems. Let's know


Dev Deepawali 2021


1. Practice Charity: Charity is of special importance on the day of Dev Deepawali. On this day, you must donate to the poor and needy according to your capacity. Warm clothes, blankets, food, clothing, and other things can also be donated on this day. 


2. Take A Bath In Holy River: It is a tradition to bathe in the holy river on the day of Dev Deepawali. It is said that in this auspicious month Shri Hari resides in water. It is considered auspicious to bathe in Brahma Muhurat in Kartik month. If you can't bathe in a holy river, you add Ganga Jal to your bathwater. 


3. Measures: On the day of Dev Deepawali add ghee or oil to the earthen or flour lamp and make a mauli baati. Add 7 cloves and chant 'Om Him Shrim Laxmibhayo Namah' 11 times. Finally, place the lamp in the east direction at the main gate. After placing the lamp, make sure you light it till 4 o'clock. This will fulfill all your wishes.


4. Chant Mantras: On the day of Dev Deepawali, Om Namah Shivaya, Om Haun Joon Saha, Om Bhurbhuvah Swah, Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam Urvarukamiv Bandhunan Mrityovarmukshiya Mamritat, Om Swah Bhuvah Bhuh, Om Saha Joon Hoon Om mantras must be chanted.
