Chhath Pooja: Only one week is remaining for Chhat Mahaparva. The festival which lasts for four days completes after Nahay khay on the first day, Kharna on the second day, Surya Arghya at the evening on the third day, and in the morning Arghya on the fourth day.


Prasad and different fruits are also important in Chhath Puja. Which fruits does the Chhathi Maiya like the most? Here are the offerings to give:


1 - Bananas
Banana is very much liked by Chhathi Maiya. Banana is also believed to be the favourite fruit of Lord Vishnu. Banana is considered pure fruit. People also offer raw bananas to please Chhathi Maiya. In the puja, raw banana is brought home and cooked.


2 - Dabh nimbu
Dabh nimbu is larger than the normal lemon. It tastes sour and sweet. It is very large in size, that is why animals and birds do not eat it. This lemon should also be offered as prasad to Chhathi Maiya.


3 - Coconut
Offering coconuts is important in the festival of Chhath. Purity is of great importance in Chhath Parv. By offering coconut, Goddess Lakshmi enters the house. While some devotees pray to be able to offer coconut, there are those who are able to offer many of them in their cast.

4 - Sugarcane
Sugarcane is also important like coconut in Chhath Puja. Jaggery made from sugarcane is also used in prasad in Chhath Puja. Many people build a small house from sugarcane for worship. It is believed that Chhathi Maiya brings happiness and prosperity to the house. Sugarcane is believed to be very dear to Chhathi Maiya.


5 - Suthani
Suthani comes out of the soil, so it is considered pure. Suthani is used in Chhath Puja. It has many medicinal properties. Suthani tastes like sweet potato. This fruit is considered very pure so is used in Chhath Puja.

6 - Supari
Supari is of special importance in any worship in the Hindu religion. No worship is completed without it. Goddess Lakshmi's influence is believed to be on it.


7- Water chestnut
The water chestnut becomes hard and animals and birds are not able to destroy it. It is considered to be the favourite fruit of Goddes Lakshmi. Also, this fruit has many useful properties.
