Butter Chicken, Tikka Crowned Champions In World's Chicken Delight Rankings

The esteemed food and travel guide, Taste Atlas, recently unveiled its list of the top 50 chicken dishes globally, based on the June 2023 rankings.

Indian cuisine has long been cherished and celebrated worldwide, renowned for its rich flavours and diverse range of dishes. Among the array of culinary delights, it is no surprise that Indian favourites like butter chicken and chicken tikka have claimed their spots among the world's best-rated chicken dishes. The esteemed food and travel guide, Taste Atlas, recently unveiled its list of the top 50 chicken dishes globally, based on the June 2023 rankings.

Remarkably, two Indian delicacies made it into the top five. Butter chicken, also known as murgh makhani, secured an impressive third position, while chicken tikka claimed the fourth spot. Topping the list was Iran's Jujeh kebab, followed closely by the South Korean stir-fry dish Dak Galbi. Furthermore, other Indian creations such as tandoori murgh and chicken 65 received recognition, ranking 19th and 25th, respectively.

Interestingly, this is not the only accolade Indian cuisine has received in recent times. The unveiling of the world's 50 best restaurants for 2023 showcased the global recognition of Indian gastronomy. Two Indian establishments made it onto the prestigious list—Gaggan Anand in Bangkok and Tresind Studio in Dubai—both renowned for their exceptional presentation of Indian culinary artistry. These acknowledgements further solidify the standing of Indian cuisine on the international culinary stage, enticing food enthusiasts from around the world to experience its authentic flavours and vibrant culinary traditions.
