Bangalore Spends Highest On Petcare, Owners Shell Out Rs 3000 Per Month: Survey

In recent years, a new trend in the country has emerged, with people becoming more interested in pet parenting. The pet care industry has grown rapidly, as has the purchase of pet care products. People's interest in this sector is growing in this situation, and new facts about the industry are emerging. According to a recent survey, Bangaloreans spend INR 3000 or more on pet care monthly.
These facts have been revealed by Supertales.com's 'Pawrents' survey. Pet care expenditure has increased rapidly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across the country. Pet parenting has grown in popularity among 48 percent of Generation Z in the last two years.

Bangalore Spends Highest On Petcare: When it comes to petcare, 55% of Bangaloreans spent INR 3000 or more per month, compared to 52% of Mumbaikars.
Post-Pandemic Petcare Trends: 40% of Delhi pawrents spent INR 1500-3000 per month on their fur babies. Pet parenting adoption has been highest among Generation Z (48%) after the pandemic, followed by Millenials (44%). Pet parents in metro cities (39%) spend more than INR 3000 per month on their pets.
Metro Vs Tier 2-3 India: The majority (47%) of pet parents in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in India spend INR 1500-3000 per month on pet care. 73% of pawrents in tier 2 and 3 cities have difficulty accessing veterinary services online. 72% of Gen-Z pawrents believe that online vet consultations should be made available to make the pet-parenting journey easier.
Need Gaps In The Industry: Pet parenting can be intimidating for new or first-time pawrents. In such cases, digitally savvy pawrents seek information online and rely entirely on their local veterinarians. However, 93% of Generation Z believe there isn't enough credible information available online to help them care for their pets. 72% of Gen-Z pawrents believe that online vet consultations should be made more accessible. 73% of pawrents in tier 2 and 3 cities have difficulty accessing veterinary services online. However, the most pressing need identified by 67% of respondents is access to emergency consultations.
