There was a secret pact between BJP and CM Pinarayi Vijayan, said Congress Kerala unit President K Sudhakaran on Wednesday. He said that the pact was evident when Enforcement Directorate submitted the chargesheet in Life Mission Bribery Case.

Sudhakaran said that even though the chargesheet clearly stated the ways things were managed Vijayan's name was not mentioned as an accused.

"The Congress will implead in the case, when the trial starts. This has occurred because of the secret pact between the BJP and Vijayan," he said.

Life Mission project is a housing scheme for the homeless. It was a pet project of Vijayan at Wadakancherry in Thrissur on government land. The project was planned with the funds coming from a charity organisation in UAE. However, a huge amount of money from this amount was given as bribes, as alleged by Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in the gold smuggling case and also in this case, said a report on IANS.

The statement comes days after Sudhakaran was arrested by Crime Branch in a cheating case. However, he was released on bail later.

Sudhakaran said that he was arrested hours after questioning by crime branch. Sudhakaran said, "They questioned me. After that, they recorded my arrest and then I was released on bail. I have faith in the judiciary. I will face the case in court."

After the arrest, Congress leadership equated Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, Kerala HC dismissed the interim bail petition of M Sivasankar, former principal secretary to Kerala CMO, in Life Mission scam case in May. M Sivasankar was arrested by Enforcement Directorate on February 14.
