'He Is Free To Speak His Opinions But..': Guv Arif Khan On Kerala CM's Remarks Over CAA, Triple Talaq
CM Vijayan On Tuesday questioned the Centre why practice of instant divorce among Muslims was "Criminalised when divorces happen in all religions"

Days after Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's slammed Centre over CAA and Triple Talaq, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Thursday asserted that nobody can stop the nation’s law from getting implemented adding to which he said, "He is free to speak his opinions."
The Kerala Governor also mentioned that Triple Talaq is an issue after Supreme Court's 2019 ruling. "Whatever CM said is his own opinion. But Triple Talaq is no more an issue, the law was implemented in 2019. A lot of women and children’s future has become secured. If somebody has a problem with it what can I do," Guv Arif Khan said as quoted by news agency ANI.

On Tuesday, CM Vijayan lashed out at the BJP-led government at the Centre over Triple Talaq and CAA. He questioned the Centre why practice of instant divorce among Muslims was "Criminalised when divorces happen in all religions".
He questioned, "While divorces take place in all religions, why is it a criminal offence to Muslims alone?"
He also asserted that Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) wouldn't be implemented in Kerala "at any cost", said an ANI report. "The Centre used religion to decide citizenship through CAA. We have already cleared our stand on it. We won't implement it here at any cost," Kerala CM said as quoted by ANI.
He has also stressed the need to preserve the mother tongue and said it is not just a means of communication but a foundation of our culture, said a PTI report.
In a Facebook post on "International Mother Language Day" on Tuesday, he said, "Let us celebrate the rich diversity of languages that exist around the world." The day should be observed in a meaningful way by recognising the world's linguistic diversity and ensuring that our posterity can also enjoy the richness and beauty of our mother tongue.
