The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal announced that action has been initiated to revoke JD(S) suspended MP Prajwal Revanna's diplomatic passport under the Passport Act 1967. He also said that a show cause notice was issued on May 23 giving Revanna 10 working days to respond.
According to ANI, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "MEA has initiated action under provisions in the Passport Act 1967 for revocation of the diplomatic passport of Prajwal Revanna. A show cause notice was issued to the passport holder on 23rd May, giving him 10 working days to respond to our notice. We are waiting for a response and will take further action as per the rules."

The announcement has come at a time when the JD(S) MP released a video message claiming that the allegations were part of a political conspiracy against him during the Lok Sabha election season.
"On Friday 31st May at 10 am I will appear before SIT and provide all information related to the investigation. I will support the investigation. I have faith in the judiciary...," he said in the self-made video.
The 33-year-old grandson of JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda is facing sexual abuse charges against him. Till now, three cases of sexual assault have been registered against Prajwal, according to the police.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said Prajwal Revanna will be arrested as soon as he arrives at the airport in Bengaluru.
