In a first reaction about the sexual abuse allegations against JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, party Supremo HD Deve Gowda stated on Saturday that he has no objection to taking action against his grandson if he is proven guilty. He also mentioned that he believes the cases against his son, JD(S) MLA H D Revanna, accused of sexual harassment and kidnapping a woman, were fabricated. However, he refrained from commenting further.

JD(S) president HD Deve Gowda, who turned 92 on Saturday said, "HD Kumaraswamy has already spoken on behalf of our family and party regarding the allegations against Prajwal Revanna and HD Revanna. It is imperative for the government to pursue all possible legal avenues against Prajwal Revanna."

"However, it is evident that the cases against HD Revanna were orchestrated to target him. Many people have been implicated in this case. It is essential that all those involved are held accountable, and justice is delivered to all the victim women," he said.

Recently, Gowda declared his decision to refrain from celebrating his birthday, urging his well-wishers and party members to extend their wishes from wherever they are.

Meanwhile, Prajwal (33) is currently facing charges of multiple counts of sexually abusing women. The scandal has stirred up a political uproar with the ruling Congress and the BJP-JD(S) coalition embroiled in a contentious exchange. Reportedly, Prajwal departed for Germany on April 27 and remains at large. In an attempt to bring him back, an Interpol Blue Corner Notice has been issued against him.
