Hardik Pandya one match ban in IPL 2025: Five-time winners Mumbai Indians' (MI) campaign in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has come to a close, ending at the bottom of IPL points table with 8 points after completing all their 14 league stage matches.

Following their 10th defeat in IPL 2024 against LSG on Friday (May 17) night, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has imposed a fine of Rs 30 lakh on MI captain Hardik Pandya and banned him from one match. This penalty will be enforced on Hardik when Mumbai Indians (MI) play their first match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

In addition to the ban, BCCI has imposed a fine of Rs 30 lakh on Hardik Pandya for Mumbai Indians (MI) slow over rate during MI vs LSG IPL 2024 match at Wankhede Cricket Stadium on Friday (May 17).

"As it was his team’s third offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Pandya was fined INR 30 lakh and banned from playing the team’s next match," IPL said in a statement after MI's 18-run defeat against LSG.

The remaining players from MI's playing 11, including the key impact player, have each been fined Rs 12 lakh or 50 percent of their match fees as a penalty for the slow over rate during the match.

In IPL 2024, Hardik Pandya became the second player and captain to receive a one-match suspension for a slow over-rate offense. Previously, Delhi Capitals' captain Rishabh Pant faced a similar penalty for his team's third over-rate offense, leading to him missing a crucial match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
