Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar urged JDS and BJP leaders to visit the residences of sexual abuse survivors in Hassan, emphasising that true respect for women entails standing by the victims. Currently, Prajwal Revanna faces accusations of sexual abuse of women between 2019 and 2022. Prajwal is the grandson of JD(S) President HD Deve Gowda and son of MLA Revanna.

On 'obscene videos' case involving JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said, "I appeal to Amit Shah to visit Hassan and meet the victims...Your party only has given a letter, identify them and please meet them."

Shivakumar pointed out that while Kumaraswamy and BJP leaders often profess their support for women, true dedication to women's rights would mean standing in solidarity with the victims.

Meanwhile, around 200 video clips of Prajwal allegedly engaging in sexual misconduct with women have also been circulated in Hassan.

The Karnataka government has launched a probe by Special Investigation Team into the alleged sex scandal.

It is also said that after the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections on April 26, Prajwal reportedly flew to Germany.

The JD(S) also suspended sitting Hassan MP Prajwal from the party over the sexual abuse allegations. "We support the formation of an SIT to investigate the accusations against Prajwal Revanna. Our party's national president has been recommended to suspend him from the party until the SIT investigation concludes," said GT Deve Gowda, the president of JD(S)'s core committee.
