Chennai: In a major embarrassment for Congress in Karnataka, two Congress leaders were caught on camera accusing Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president DK Shivakumar of taking bribes. Congress has served show-cause to one of the two leaders VS Ugrappa and the other Saleem Ahmed was suspended from the party for six years.


Earlier, the disciplinary committee of the Karnataka Congress has recommended the expulsion of the former MP after he allegedly badmouthed party president DK Shivakumar in a video, which is making rounds on social media.


The video surfaced a day after Income Tax conducted searches at Raid Image Consultancy firm hired by DK Shivakumar. The Congress alleged the raids to be a political 'vendetta'

Responding to the controversy after facing show cause notice, Cong leader VS Ugrappa said, "When I was about to address the press conference, our media coordinator Saleem came and whispered that some people in Shivamogga including DK Shivakumar and his people are making money. After the conference, I spoke with Saleem who said that it's not his but BJP and others' allegations."






"Congress isn't supporting corruption, particularly DK Shivakumar. He's a very good administrator and has earned money via business. Party took action against Saleem for not choosing the right place to share this information," Ugrappa told the media.

Meanwhile, BJP General Secretary, CT Ravi tagging the video to his Tweet said, "Kannadigas are wondering how much the 'fake Gandhis' would have collected."






Besides CT Ravi, BJP's national convener of the IT cell remarks the controversy to be 'interesting' on Twitter.
