Chennai: Tension prevailed at Ilkal town of north Karnataka after a fight broke out between two religious outfits over a taunt between two friends at a tuition centre on Monday evening. The incident got triggered reportedly when a 15-year-old boy, studying in Class 9 attended private tuition and his friends allegedly made fun of his skull cap.
Following which the boy went and told his friends who were members of a religious outfit. The members reached the tuition centre and started creating a ruckus.
The other friend then went and informed the members of another religious outfit which led to the clash between the two groups. The members of the religious outfit also reportedly threatened the Muslim boy over filing a police complaint.
A tweet by ANI said, "A clash broke out in Ilkal town of Bagalkot district over opposition to a Muslim boy wearing a skull cap. Two students were critically injured. Two FIRs, including that on a counter-complaint, registered."

According to a report on The Indian Express, the members of the two groups attacked each other. Both the gangs had more than 15 members. The police have arrested four persons and detained four others including two juveniles. The DySP of Bagalkot division Chandrakant Nanda Reddy reportedly told The Indian Express that searches are on to nab others.
The incident happened weeks after the cold-blooded murder of Arbaaz by the parents of a Hindu woman with who he was having a relationship.
