108 Ambulance services were hit in Karnataka on Sunday after a technical glitch occurred in the helpline service. State Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar assured that the services will resume and measures are being taken to rectify the issue.
He assured people that there is no need to worry as a backup server has been installed and measures have been taken to repair the main server. In a Tweet, Dr K Sudhakar wrote, "A video conference of the district level officials was held under the leadership of the Principal Secretary of the Health Department to solve the technical problem in the Arogya Kavacha Ambulance service and to establish a temporary alternative system without any interruption in the ambulance service."
Meanwhile, he also informed that the centralised call centre has been functioning at full scale and the calls were being answered to provide ambulance services. He said that temporary backup server is installed and work was ongoing to repair the faulty main server.

He also mentioned that three to four decentralised call centres have been arranged in each district to ensure uninterrupted services and the local media has been playing a vital role in informing public about this.
Meanwhile, the health minister also said that the current vendor's services are not satisfactory and a new tender has been floated. While addressing the media, Dr Sudhakar slammed the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Siddaramaiah's for his comments on ambulance services issue. Earlier, Siddaramiah said that corruption is the main reason for the occurrence of ambulance issue in the state.
"Siddaramaiah doesn't understand technical issues. He must understand the facts before commenting. Everything should not be seen through the political lens," Sudhakar said, as quoted by Mint, reacting to Congress leader's comments.
