Chennai: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai held a meeting with MLAs and leaders of Belagavi district ahead of PM Modi’s likely visit on February 27. The meeting was also attended by Union Minister for parliamentary affairs Pralhad Joshi.


According to ANI, “Bengaluru | Karnataka CM Basavaraja Bommai holds a meeting with MLAs and leaders of Belagavi district ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit on 27th February to Belagavi. Union Minister for parliamentary affairs Pralhad Joshi was also present at the meeting.”


 






According to sources, PM Modi is likely to visit the district on February 27. During the visit, PM Modi is expected to inaugurate the redeveloped railway station and hold a roadshow ahead of the elections. The PM is also expected to release the second installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi amount at Belagavi.


The PM is likely to hold a road show from 2 pm to 3 pm and address a public rally at 3.30 pm on Monday. 


Later, the PM is also expected to leave for Shivamogga for inaugurating a new airport, according to The Hindu.


Till now, there is no official announcement from the Prime Minister's office. However, party workers held a meeting in Belagavi on Sunday to discuss the preparation. 


Belagavi is a turf of BJP and the party holds 13 of 18 seats in the district. Belagavi is also the largest city after Bengaluru.

The February 27 visit of PM Modi is the third visit of the BJP leader ahead of the run-up for the Karnataka Assembly Election 2023.
