The Mysuru city police on Saturday arrested a man, who married 15 women since 2014. The accused has been identified as Mahesh KB Nayak, a resident of Bengaluru’s Banashankari. According to the police, Mahesh used to pose as an engineer or a doctor mostly, as reported by Times of India. The police further revealed that he used matrimonial sites to get in touch with women and entice them.


Mahesh had a fake clinic in Tumakuru and he also hired a nurse, Times Of India reported citing sources. The police made the arrest based on the complaint filed by one of victims Hemalatha who is a software engineer from Bengaluru. Mahesh had married her earlier this year, according to The New Indian Express.

Following the arrest, Kuvempunagar police recovered two cars, seven cellphones, jewellery and Rs 2 lakh in cash from him, the report stated. Out of the 15 women Mahesh married, he had children with four of them, TOI reported. According to the report, another woman complained to the police and alleged that she was cheated by the accused.


The police also said that, Mahesh was rejected by many women because of his poor command on the English language.


Mahesh use to meet his wives very rarely. Majority of the women he married were well educated and were not dependent on him for money. According to the police, the women did not file a complaint despite realising that they have been conned due to the fear of embarrassment and stigma, TOI reported.

According to an Indian Express report, Mahesh’s father had filed a complaint against him alleging that he tried to kill him.
