Karnataka police arrested the man who was wanted in the murder of a 20-year-old woman at her residence in Hubballi. The man, identified as Girish alias Vishwa, has been accused of barging into the victim Anjali's house and murdering her after she rejected his proposal.
Hubballi Dharwad Police Commissioner, Renuka Sukumar said, "Accused Girish aka Vishwa has been arrested. He was absconding after stabbing Anjali to death on 15th May. More details awaited."
"He has severe face and head injury for which he needs treatment, after the treatment we will take him into custody for further investigation... He was on his way from Banglore to Goa and from there he wanted to go to Mumbai... He says that the girl has started blocking him and it enraged him, but that's his version which needs to be checked," she said.

The police announced the suspension of Bendigeri Police Inspector Chandrappa Chickkodi and woman constable Rekha Havreddi due to charges of dereliction of duty.
Earlier, Anjali, the victim, had approached Bendigeri police but the cops instead of taking action reportedly sent her back.
