Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Apr. 6 (ANI): The Uttar Pradesh Government has withdrawn plan of privatisation of integrated power services in seven cities, including Lucknow.
The decision was taken on Thursday in a meeting headed by State Power Minister Srikant Sharma.
The state government rolled back the plan after UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) employees agitated against the move. The power employees were on agitation for the past 15 days.
The UPPCL employees demanded that any privatisation move in the power sector will be taken in consultation with them. (ANI)
