PM Modi launches postage stamp, says 'they are a wonderful way to preserve history'
Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 22 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a postage stamp based on 'Ramayana' in Varanasi and said that stamps are a wonderful way to preserve history.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi visited two famous temples Tulsi Manas and Durga Mata and offered prayers.
While addressing a gathering, Prime Minister Modi said, "stamps are a wonderful way to preserve history, they have a special place in society".
Along with Prime Minister Modi, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also offered prayers at the temple.
Prime Minister Modi will be launching a number of projects including infrastructure, railways, financial inclusion and sanitation in the coming days in the state.
Apart from attending inauguration ceremonies, he will also address public meetings and hold an interaction with Muslim women.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi flagged off the Mahamana Express which will ply between Varanasi and Vadodara.
Prime Minister Modi is on his two-day visit to his Lok Sabha constituency, Varanasi to inaugurate a number of projects and address public meetings. (ANI)
