Phuket [Thailand], Oct.10 (ANI): Kaspersky Lab, one of the world's fastest growing cyber-security companies, and the largest one to be privately owned, is all set to host the APAC Cyber Security Weekend 2017 here over the next two days.
In the run-up to the event, Stephan Neumeier, Managing Director, APAC Kaspersky Lab told ANI Tuesday that this annual conference-cum-interaction would see the participation of over 40 delegates, including 26 journalists from about 11 countries across the Asia-Pacific region,
At a get -to-know session held here this evening ahead of Wednesday's official commitments, Neumeier and Alejandro Arango, Global Director (PR) for Kaspersky Lab both said that they were looking forward to 48 hours of intensive discussion and interaction on their company's global vision and committed focus on international markets and what futuristic steps need to be taken to think differently, act faster, innovate and deliver information technology-related protection that is effective, usable and accessible.
Both said they were keen to hear from the other side information on what they have termed often as "endpoint security" which they said is the core of the Kaspersky business module, especially when it comes to the small-to-medium sized business segment.
In their informal conversations this evening, they were candid enough to admit that global systems are in a churning mode and in this scenario, it was natural that in an IT industry driven environment and rapid proliferation of new technologies, it has become doubly important that IT security expertise also takes centre stage.
Wednesday's annual conference, declared as a very important event in the Kaspersky calendar by Neumeier, will see a host of issues being taken up, including subjects such as history of cyber espionage attacks in the Asia Pacific region, how to prevent infrastructure from going malicious and identifying spies, to going beyond to nation-state cyber financial operations.
One-on-one interviews with key panelists have also been programmed into the schedule.
it is expected that panelists are going to re-emphasize their goal of transforming its leading security intelligence into real protection for their clients from current as well as emerging cyber threats.
Kaspersky currently operates in 200 countries and territories with the help of 3,300 highly qualified specialists. About 400 million users, including 270,000 corporate clients are protected by Kaspersky created technologies. (ANI)
