AAP vs chief secy: Delhi's bureaucrats decide to continue peaceful protest
New Delhi [India]. Feb 22 (ANI): Bureaucrats of Delhi government have formed coordination committee comprising of representatives of all associations and decided to continue peaceful protest against alleged manhandling of Delhi chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.
The Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service (DANICS), Delhi Administration Subordinate Service (DASS) and other associations of Delhi government employees have also decided to work only through formal written channels of communication.
A joint meeting of DASS, DANICS, IAS and many other employees associations of Delhi Government was held yesterday to decide the further course of action in the matter.
The representatives of Delhi Jal Board Employees Union, Planning and Statistical Officers Union, Patwari and Kanungos Union, and several other employee unions have also joined the protest.
The stand taken by the Delhi Government officers and employees has been endorsed by a number of service associations across the country stating that the dignity of public servants cannot be compromised.
It was further resolved that the incident of attack on the chief secretary has deeply breached the trust of the officers in the political executive of GNCTD.
On Tuesday, the Chief Secretary lodged a police complaint and alleged that he was manhandled at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence by two lawmakers of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) - Ajay Dutt and Prakash Jarwal.
The Chief Secretary said that he was attacked in the presence of Kejriwal after being summoned for discussions on Aadhaar -related problems. (ANI)
