During the G-7 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart Rishi Sunak had a meeting in Hiroshima on Sunday. The leaders reportedly touched on diverse topics like the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, innovation, science, and the India-UK free trade agreement.
About the meeting, an official press statement by UK's government stated: "They discussed progress on a UK-India Free Trade Agreement. The leaders agreed that their teams would continue to work at pace to finalise an ambitious and mutually beneficial deal. The leaders discussed the wider objectives of the G7 Summit and the Prime Minister committed his strong support for India’s G20 Presidency, which comes at a crucial time for global security and prosperity."
After the meeting, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a series of pictures showing him conversing with the United Kingdom's premier.
Taking to Twitter, PM Modi stated: “Productive discussion with UK PM @RishiSunak on the sidelines of the Hiroshima G-7 Summit.”

The British High Commission in India's official Twitter account shared the post along with other pictures of the leaders embracing each other.

On Sunday, the Prime Minister Modi paid a visit to the Peace Memorial Museum, where he carefully examined the featured artifacts and left his signature on the guestbook. The Australian and Japanese Prime Ministers, along with other leaders, came together at the significant location to show their respect for those who were impacted by the devastating effects of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima.
