India has struck a Rs 26,000 crore contract for 240 AL-31FP engines, which will equip the Indian Air Force’s (IAF’s) Su-30MKI fighter jets. This deal marks a significant step in India’s push towards greater self-reliance in defence manufacturing, reflecting its ongoing collaboration with Russia.
