Yoga As A Transformative Vidya Rooted In Tradition

Swami Shivadhyanam Saraswati spoke about his spiritual lineage which traces back to Swami Shivananda Saraswati of Rishikesh. He shared that his guru believed that yoga is not just a physical practice, but a deeper understanding that can transform and shape a person’s personality. According to him, yoga aligns the intellect, emotions, and actions into harmonious balance.

He also commented on the direction of modern yoga, pointing out that these practices lack authentic lineage.

"Yoga Is Far More Than The 84 Asanas"

Swami Shivadhyanam Saraswati believes that yoga is far more than the popular 84 asanas. The true progress of a nation is inseparable from the holistic development of its people. He urged individuals to explore the deeper realities of yoga, which can significantly improve the quality of life on a daily basis. He explained that yoga has the power to heal psychosomatic illnesses by addressing their root causes, rather than just suppressing symptoms. Conditions stemming from emotional stress and mental unrest can gradually dissolve through consistent yogic practice, which brings the body, breath, and mind into alignment.

He stressed that real transformation requires 'sanyam,' a disciplined life marked by self-awareness, emotional balance, and mindful living. When practiced in its truest form, yoga is not just a tool for fitness but a holistic path to inner peace, health, and well-being.
