The ABP Network is all set to host its highly anticipated annual event, the third edition of the 'Ideas of India' Summit. To be held in Mumbai from February 23 to 24, this annual summit gathers eminent personalities from diverse fields to delve into a spectrum of issues, ranging from everyday concerns to global phenomena that sculpt the future. With a renewed focus on providing comprehensive insights into the events and narratives shaping public discourse both domestically and internationally, this year's summit promises to be a platform where the brightest intellects converge to dissect the intricacies of news and its profound implications on our daily lives.

Over the course of two days, participants will engage in thought-provoking discussions and exchanges, aiming to unravel the complexities in contemporary news and share their opinions on the profound impact of the narratives on various aspects of our lives.

In one of the many sessions scheduled over the next two days, prominent author and Associate Professor of Ashoka University, Vinay Sitapati will speak on the session titled ‘Understanding Politics: Personalities, Ideas and Ideologies’.

Sitapati, currently serving as an associate professor of political science and legal studies at Ashoka University, holds degrees from the prestigious National Law School Bangalore and Harvard University, and a PhD in politics from Princeton University.

Sitapati's scholarly contributions extend beyond academia, with his writings gracing a myriad of esteemed publications such as the Economic & Political Weekly, International New York Times, The Indian Express, Harvard BlackLetter Law Journal, The Hindu, Harvard Crimson, Oxford Handbook of the Indian Constitution, and Seminar.

Notably, Sitapati rose to prominence with his debut book, a captivating biography titled 'Half-Lion,' which explores the life and legacy of former Indian Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao. Published by Penguin Books in India and Oxford University Press-USA in the United States, the book received widespread acclaim, earning the distinction of being named a 'Book of the Year' by The Economist magazine. It also secured a place among Amazon.com's prestigious list of '100 books to read in a lifetime.' Testament to its popularity, 'Half-Lion' has been translated into Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, further extending its reach and impact.

Building on the success of his first book, Sitapati ventured into the realm of political analysis with his second publication, focusing on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before the ascension of Narendra Modi to the Prime Ministerial chair.

Released in late 2020 by Penguin Books in India and Hurst in the United States and the United Kingdom, this insightful work offers a nuanced exploration of the BJP's evolution. This book has also been translated into Hindi and Telugu.
