World Cancer Day 2020 being observed Tuesday with a theme -- 'I am and I will', represents an empowering call-to-action urging personal commitment, and also represents the power of action taken now to have a positive impact on the future.

New Delhi: World Cancer Day 2020 being observed Tuesday with a theme -- 'I am and I will', represents an empowering call-to-action urging personal commitment, and also represents the power of action taken now to have a positive impact on the future. This theme has been proposed for the next three years. The aim is to reduce the misconceptions about cancer and to help people in getting the right information about it. A user wrote: "On this World Cancer Day, let's all unite and stand against cancer. Every person matters. Every action counts. Let's beat cancer together." Another wrote: "On #WorldCancerDay lets work together to raise awareness of cancer disease and encourage its prevention, detection & treatment." A post read: "Feb 4th is #WorldCancerDay For all who live, recover and whose lives have been touched by this reality...... I pray for strength and hope." A Tweeple remarked: "Be a brave fighter, cancer will only be one chapter in your life...not the whole story." Cancer is the second leading cause of the death globally. The top cancers that affect the Indian population are lung, breast, cervical, head and neck and colorectal cancer (CRC).
