New Delhi: After around sixty-five staffers of the famous Sukhdev Dhaba located in Haryana's Murthal tested positive for the Coronavirus, health officials on Friday have asked visitors from Delhi to immediately ‘self-isolate and get tested for Covid 19’. According to a report by PTI, a senior official of the Delhi government said those who visited the outlets should isolate themselves immediately and go for testing after 3-4 days.

"Highway dhabas are dangerous places to go to as of now, as customers can go to any city from that point. So, it's also a logistical nightmare for the surveillance team," said the official on the condition of anonymity in the report.

The official also said that contact tracing will be done by the surveillance team for which apps may also be used.

He also added, “The best is families should not go out as much as possible. This is still a heath emergency and people should not be complacent and venture out only if really necessary. "It is very irresponsible on people's part to go out and enjoy as if everything is normal. They are putting themselves and their family members and others at risk,"

Sonipat district administration has also launched a massive contact-tracing drive and is doing sampling work in other eateries in the area. Sonipat's Chief Medical Officer Dr. J S Punia said in the report that most of the staff who had tested positive at Sukhdev Dhaba were workers who had recently come from Bihar.

Apart from Sukhdev Dhabba, 10 workers of another hotel located near to the Amrik Sukhdev dhaba have also been tested positive. Both dhabas are located in Sonipat's Murthal and nearly 50 km away from Delhi. All 65 staffers, who tested Covid-19 positive, are said to asymptomatic and have been home quarantined.
