Thiruvananthapuram: Following Prime Minister Modi’s appeal on Monday that vaccine is the only weapon that can prevent from getting infected by the deadly virus, many states have abided by his statement and have appreciated the PM for the announcements he had made regarding vaccinations for the people in the age group of 18 and above.






In fresh guidelines issued by the Kerala government, the vaccination can be availed by the bedridden or debilitating patients at their residence itself. The Government has also included lawyers and law clerks in the priority group in the age group of 18-45 years to get vaccinated.

In a statement released on Tuesday, it is said that the state will vaccinate the bedridden and debilitating patients, who cannot be moved out and those for whom mobilizing might worsen their present health condition, at their residence.


After the list of such beneficiaries is prepared, an ambulance with the necessary AEFI management kit will be sent and medical personnel should be available in the vicinity in case of any emergency. Each house visit team will have a Medical Officer, Vaccinator, and support staff, read the statement.


After getting vaccinated, for the next 48 hours, the beneficiary should be followed up by the medical practitioners assigned to them. And the medical practitioner should take care of the beneficiary in the case of a medical emergency. Janamaithri Police or the Station House Officer should take the onus of collecting the details of senior citizens in their respective jurisdiction, the government said in a statement.
