Mumbai: Famous casting director Sehar Ali Latif, known for casting actors in Bollywood and Hollywood films and web shows, died of a cardiac arrest. She was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for her treatment of damaged kidneys. However, her condition kept deteriorating day by day and eventually, she left for her heavenly abode.


Actor Prit Kamani, who played the lead role in the film 'Maska', confirmed the death of Seher Latif to ABP News and expressed deep regret over her passing and remembered the casting director as a wonderful person.


Seher Aly Latif was associated with films like 'The Lunchbox', 'Monsoon Shootout', 'Shankutala Devi', 'Durgamati', 'Maska' and as a casting director. She also worked for a web show called 'Bhaag Beanie Bhaag'. She also produced the film 'Maska' which released on Netflix and also the web show 'Bhaag Beanie Bhaag' under her production house 'Mutant Films'.


Seher Latif is also known for helping in the casting of internationally acclaimed films and web shows, including 'Eat Pray Love', 'Furious 7', 'Tigers', 'Viceroy's House', 'McMafia', ' Sense 8’ and others.


Seher Aly Latif's name was also associated as an executive producer in films like 'Gold', 'Shakuntala Devi' and 'Noblemen'. She got the award for casting Indian actors in foreign films like 'Zero Dark Thirty', 'The Good Karma Hospital', 'Best Exotic Marigold Hotel', 'The Man Who Knew Infinity', 'Million Dollar Arm', 'Line of Descent' and others.


‘The Lunchbox’ actress Nimrat Kaur who also played an important role in the film 'Maska', mourned the death of Seher through social media posts. Many other Bollywood celebrities expressed their grief over the passing of Seher Aly Latif at a young age.
