New Delhi: In a meeting with health ministers of nine North Indian states and union territories on Tuesday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya advised the states/UTs to send Covid testing & vaccination data regularly.


As per the sources, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also said that testing should be ramped up in the states where it has gone down, ANI reported.


"Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya also told the States/UTs that as a large number of people are opting for home isolation, they should be monitored as per national guidelines," official sources were quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.






COVID Situation In India


India logged less than 3 lakh COVID cases- 2,55,874 new cases (50,190 less than yesterday), 614 deaths and 2,67,753 recoveries in the last 24 hours.


The death toll climbed to 4,89,848 with 439 fresh fatalities.


Last week, in a press briefing, the Union Health Ministry had mentioned about six states continuing to remain areas of concern due to an increase in the weekly positivity rate in the week ending January 20 as compared to the weekly positive rate logged in the week ending January 13.


The states included Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.


The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive have exceeded 162.26 crores.
