New Delhi: India on Friday reported 13,166 fresh COVID-19 cases, 26,988 recoveries, and 302 deaths in the last 24 hours.


The new coronavirus infections, took the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,28,94,345, while the active cases dipped to 1,34,235.

According to the Union Health Ministry data, the death toll climbed to 5,13,226 with 302 fresh fatalities.


The daily COVID-19 cases have remained below one lakh for 19 consecutive days.


The active cases comprise 0.31 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.49 percent.

The daily positivity rate was recorded as 1.28 percent while the weekly positivity rate was recorded as 1.48 percent.


The number of people who have recuperated from COVID-19 increased to 4,22,46,884.


The cumulative vaccine doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive exceeded 176.86 crores.


Coronavirus Cases In Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi


 Kerala on Thursday recorded 4,064 fresh COVID-19 infections which raised the total caseload to 64,87,837 in the state.

The southern state also reported 212 deaths which raised the total fatalities to 64,803, according to a government release.

Of the deaths, 15 were reported in the last 24 hours, 37 were those which occurred in the last few days but were not recorded due to late receipt of documents and 160 were designated as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and the directions of the Supreme Court, the release mentioned.

With 9,531 recoveries, the total recovered persons in the state reached 63,80,561 and the active cases dropped to 41,675.


On the other hand, Maharashtra on Thursday recorded 1,182 fresh coronavirus positive cases, including 58 new Omicron infections, and 19 deaths, the health department stated.

With this, the state's COVID-19 tally reached 78,62,650 and the death toll rose to 1,43,675.

"Fifty-eight patients with Omicron infection have been reported in the state. All these cases have been reported by B J Medical College (Pune)," the department stated in its bulletin.

According to the statement, 52 of these infections were recorded from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits, three in Pune rural and one case each in Ahmednagar, Satara and Pimpri-Chinchwad.


The number of active cases in Maharashtra stands at 10,250.


Meanwhile, Delhi on Thursday reported 556 COVID cases with a positivity rate of 1.10 per cent and six deaths due to the infection

618 patients were discharged in a day.

Delhi's case tally has now increased to 18,58,154 and the death toll is at 26,115.


The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal today.


 Most of the Covid related curbs, including night curfew and 50 per cent seating capacity in restaurants and bars, are likely to be lifted by the DDMA which is scheduled to meet on Friday, news agency PTI reported officials as saying.
