In a video address, early on Friday, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said 137 people including civilians and military personnel have been killed in the Russian offensive. Another 316 had been wounded, he said.

After Kremlin's large-scale invasion from the eastern border of Ukraine, President Zelensky said, "We have been left alone to defend our state." His dissatisfaction stems from the fact that Russia could launch an attack despite NATO forces promising to help.

"Who is ready to fight alongside us? I don't see anyone. Who is ready to give Ukraine a guarantee of NATO membership? Everyone is afraid," he added.

Zelensky refuted Russia's claim that they are only killing army personnel. "They're killing people and turning peaceful cities into military targets. It's foul and will never be forgiven. The Ukrainian President also said that all the border guards in the Odesa region were killed on Thursday.

'A New Iron Curtain' That Will Cut Russia From Outside World

"What do we hear today? It's not just rocket explosions, fighting and the roar of aircraft. This is the sound of a new iron curtain lowering and closing Russia off from the civilised world. Our national task is to make sure this curtain does not fall on our territory, but on the homes of Russians"

Zelensky also made an appeal to the citizens of Kyiv to remain vigilant and observe a curfew as "sabotage groups" have entered the capital. The President also said that his family is "the target number one"

"They want to destroy Ukraine politically by taking down the head of state," Zelensky said.

After the Russian attack on Ukraine, there has been a series of countries that are imposing restrictions and cutting ties with Russia.
