Coronavirus India: With no respite in Covid-19 transmission, India again witnessed over 60,000 fresh cases on Wednesday, adding another lakh to its overall tally. As per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, single-day spike of 60,963 cases and 834 deaths were reported in India, in the last 24 hours. The Covid-19 tally rises to 23,29,639 including 643948 active cases, 1639600 cured/discharged/migrated and 46091 deaths,  Ministry of Health stated.

Testing In India:

2,60,15,297 samples tested up to 11th August 2020 for Covid-19. Of these, 7,33,449 samples were tested yesterday, the Indian Council of Medical Research has said.

Recoveries in India:

India’s recoveries have crossed 15 lakh mark. Ministry of health has said that ‘the TEST, TRACK, TREAT strategy showing desired result- early identification and  prompt isolation/hospitalisation aiding exponential growth in recoveries. Total more than 15 lakhs."

'72-Hr Formula' suggested by PM Modi:

Pointing out a 72 hour formula to contain the spread of Coronavirus, PM Modi said that experts are of the opinion that if within 72 hours, a person is diagnosed, then the spread can be controlled to a great extent. "It is important that all the people who come in contact with an infected person must be tested within 72 hours," he said.
