Can Covid-19 Be Cured With Drugs Like Aspirin? Govt Busts Fake Viral Post

Fact Check: The government has asked people to stay informed and not get influenced by a post that went viral on social media about COVID-19.

Fact Check: The government has warned people against a post going viral on social media platforms that claims Covid-19 as bacteria and not a virus. The viral post claims that Covid-19 can be treated with a common drug like aspirin.

According to the post, it was found that Covid-19 was a bacteria and could be treated with aspirin after an autopsy of a man was done who died contracting the coronavirus in Singapore. 

Can Aspirin Cure Covid-19?

As per the post, Singapore became the first country in the world to perform an autopsy on a Covid victim. After thorough investigation, it revealed that covid-19 does not exist as a virus, but is a bacteria that has come in contact with radiation and causes death due to blood clotting.

The viral post also claims that research has been done to prove aspirin's role in treating the covid-19 disease. The government described it as fake and misleading in Twitter posts and clarified that covid-19 cannot be cured with aspirin.

Govt Busts Fake Post

The Press Information Bureau has asked people not to believe such posts and to be aware of false claims. The government clarified that the post which is going viral is fake.

Earlier, Singapore's health ministry had also said that the claim being made in the post is scientifically baseless.

On its official Facebook page, Singapore's Health Ministry clarified, "We are aware of the viral post that says Singapore has tested the body of the covid-19 patient and has reportedly changed the treatment protocol. The message has been linked to the Ministry of Health of Singapore. That's not true."

She further explained that Singapore has not done any such autopsy. The post resorted to misinformation that is not proved by existing evidence.

Earlier a similar claim about Russia was made, which has been busted.
