Valmik Sakaragaye had filed FIR against Ekta Kapoor and two others in Indore for allegedly spreading obscenity and hurting religious feelings with the web series 'Triple X Season 2', a report in PTI said. The director of the series, Pankhudi Rodrigues, and screenwriter, Jessica Khurana, were also named in the complaint. The complainant alleged that a scene in the web series tarnished the reputation of the Indian Army. He accused the makers of the web series of 'using the Indian Army uniform and national emblem inappropriately'.

Ekta Kapoor and others were charged  under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including sections 294, 298 and 34. They were also booked under the section 67-A of the Information Technology (IT) Act and section 3 of the State Emblem Act.

The film and TV producer issued an apology for 'unintentionally hurting the sentiments' and deleted the particular scene from the series. "As an individual and as an organisation we are deeply respectful towards Indian Army. Their contribution to our well being and security is immense. We have already deleted the scene that is being spoken about, so action has been taken from our side. We fully apologise for any sentiment that is hurt unintentionally. What we don't appreciate is the bullying and the rape threats by the trolls," Ekta said in a statement.

'XXX' season two landed in major controversy as Hindustani Bhau aka Vikas Pathak also filed a complaint against Ekta and her mother Shobhaa Kapoor for allegedly disrespecting the Indian Army. Some ex-army officers also raised their objection over the 'inappropriate and vulgar content' in the series. Ex-army personnel lodged a complaint in Gurugram's Palam Vihar police station against the makers in June 2020.
