New Delhi: ‘Dahaad’ starring Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah in the lead, has been selected for the Berlinale Series Competition. The show is set in a small, sleepy town in Rajasthan. An 8 part, slow-burn crime drama that follows Sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati and her colleagues at the local police station unravel a curious case.

Sub-Inspector Anjali Bhaati is given the case after a number of women's bodies are discovered in unsolved murders in public restrooms. At first glance, the murders seem to be suicides, but as more information becomes available, Anjali starts to fear a serial murderer is at large. As she races to solve the case and prevent the murder of another innocent lady, she engages in a fascinating game of cat and mouse with the seasoned criminal.

Announcing the same, actor Vijay Varma posted two snapshots from the series writing, “We starting 2023 with a glorious news! #Dahaad ’s roar echoes through the #Berlinale as it becomes the first Indian webseries to premiere at the festival."

Prior to ‘Dahaad’, Reema Kagti has delivered many critically acclaimed and loved stories with films like Talaash, Zindgi Na Milegi Dobara, Gully Boy (also presented at The Berlinale) and web series like Made In Heaven amongst many others. Directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi, produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, and Farhan Akhtar, Dahaad is slated to release in 2023.
