New Delhi: Huma Qureshi is known for praising herself and her physical appearance. The actress recently spoke out about facing fat-shaming and promoting body acceptance in the entertainment business. She noted that body shaming is something that women experience on a daily basis. 


Huma Qureshi, who is getting ready for the debut of her next film, titled, ‘Double XL’ recently discussed how she has been coping with the effects of body shaming for a number of years. 


Huma recounted being subjected to fat shaming in a recent interview with Mid Day and said that it is damaging to a person's confidence. She said, “We look at women’s bodies and use dismissive words. Body shaming erodes somebody’s confidence. When we make a film about it and use our position as actors to create awareness, we start a healthy conversation.”


The actress further noted that this problem is something that women experience on a daily basis. 


In addition to this, Huma said that the purpose of her ‘anti-body-shaming’ film, titled ‘Double XL,’ is to bring about a constructive shift in society. Qureshi is making her debut as a producer with this project as well. She challenged herself to grow physically, intellectually, and spiritually in preparation for the movie by putting on weight.


The film 'Double XL' is going to be directed by Satram Ramani, and the leading roles are going to be played by Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, Zaheer Iqbal, and Mahat Raghavendra. The creators will soon make an announcement on the release date.
