New Delhi: Actor Vikram Gokhale, who had a long and successful career, died today. The actor was receiving medical treatment at the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune. On November 25, the medical staff at the hospital advised his family that his condition was gradually getting better. But on Saturday afternoon, he passed away at the age of 77, leaving behind his wife and two daughters.


Following the confirmation of the news today, several celebrities, including Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, and many more, turned to social media to offer their condolences to the actor's family.


Actor Akshay Kumar who has previously collaborated with Vikram on ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ wrote in a tweet: “Very sad to know of the demise of Vikram Gokhale ji. Worked with him in films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Mission Mangal, had so much to learn from him. Om Shanti.”



Anupam Kher also expressed his sadness at the passing of the renowned actor on Twitter, writing "Vikram Gokhale!" followed by a string of broken heart emojis.



Actor Rahul Dev shared a picture of Vikram and wrote, “Saddened to learn that #VikramGokhale ji is no more. A true gentleman and a complete actor ... his craft lent dignity to all his roles. Fortunate to have worked with him. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. Shine on Sir.”



Manoj Bajpayee also took to twitter and wrote, “Indian cinema lost a gem of an actor. Had the privilege of working with him in Aiyyari and shared few great moments with him on the set ! Saddened to hear about Shri Vikram Gokhale ji’s demise. My thoughts & prayers are with the family 🙏🏼”



Actress Raveena Tandon also showed her heartfelt condolence. 



Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mourned and wrote, “Vikram Gokhale Ji was a creative and versatile actor. He will be remembered for many interesting roles in his long acting career. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family, friends and admirers. Om Shanti.”



Vikram Gokhale has worked in many Hindi films like 'Khuda Gawah', 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa', 'Mission Mangal', 'Dil Se', 'De Dana Dan, Hichki'. In 2013, he received the Best Actor Award for the Marathi film 'Anumati'.
