New Delhi: Veteran cinema, television, and stage actor Vikram Gokhale passed away on Saturday, November 26. He had been admitted to the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital and was on life support. Vikram Gokhale had a severe liver condition that eventually caused the other vital organs to stop working.
The 77-year-old actor had made significant contributions to the film industry. The actor starred in several films like 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa', 'De Dana Dan', 'Bang Bang', 'Hichki', 'Mission Mangal' and others.
In addition to acting, he had ventured into directing as well. In 2010, he made his directing debut with the Marathi movie 'Aaghaat'. He had also won a number of honours. He also received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2011, for his contribution to theatre. For his Marathi film 'Anumati', he had taken home the National Film Award for Best Actor in 2013.

1. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam:
In this movie, Vikram Gokhale plays the role of Pundit Darbar, a renowned proponent of Indian classical music. He is Nandini's (Aishwarya Rai) loving and strict father. Darbar agrees to teach Indian classical music to Sameer (played by Salman Khan). Later, when he discovers Sameer's growing attraction to Nandini, he bans Sameer and gives up music.

2. Bhool Bhulaiyaa:
Here, Vikram plays the role of the Acharya Yagyaprakash Bharti who comes to the house of the Chaturvedi's to solve the mysterious happenings that keep on taking place. He helps Aditya (Akshay Kumar) to cure Avni (Vidya Balan) after learning that there is no spirit in the house, but it is Avni who is the one responsible for the mysterious incidents for she is suffering from a dissociative identity disorder.
3. Anumati:
Gajendra Ahire wrote and directed this film, which has outstanding performances by Vikram as well as Reema Lagoo, Neena Kulkarni, and Subodh Bhave. In the film, Vikram's character Ratnakar performs situational poetry. Ratnakar is feeling powerless as his wife falls into a coma and is unable to meet medical expenses.

4. Aaghaat
Vikram played senior Dr. Khurana in his directorial debut. The plot revolved around the bureaucratic structure of large private hospitals and the administration's attitude toward patients and their families.
The plot depicts the self-esteem concerns of well-known and capable medical practitioners. Mukta Barve, Suhas Joshi, Kadambari Kadam Desai, Deepa Shreeram, Madhav Abhyankar, Arun Nalawade, and Aniket Vishwasrao all played prominent roles in the film. The link to the movie is given below:
5. Udaan
'Udaan' is the story of a girl named Kalyani Singh who joined the police force and rose through the ranks thanks to her hard work and perseverance. Vikram Gokhale plays Kalyani's father in this series. Gokhale loses all of his land after it is taken away from him forcibly. Kalyani also feels neglected when all attention is focused on a boy born in their family who is regarded as the family's male heir.
Kalyani's father advises her that she is equal to everyone and that she should make it her duty to elevate the flight (Udaan) to a respectable status in society. She vows to become a police officer and restore her family's respect.

6. Thoda Sa Roomani Ho Jaaye:
The film has a great deal of poetry. Anita Kanwar is an unusual girl who lacks confidence. Everyone around her, including her father and brothers, is always telling her how she should be. Then a rain-making magician appears in their lives. He assists her in realising the power of believing. He restores her attractiveness and confidence. She now realises she has a completely other existence simply by believing or changing her perception. Vikram Gokhale plays the role of a supporting actor in this movie.
