New Delhi: Popular TV actress Shama Sikander, who is fondly known for playing the role of Pooja in Sony TV’s ‘Ye Meri Life Hai’, was all set to get married to her fiancé James Milliron this year. However, the actress had to put her wedding preparations on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The COVID-19 outbreak has brought the world to a standstill, forcing the people to stay locked inside their homes.

Shama, while talking to a leading daily, said that she was supposed to tie the knot with her fiancé in September 2020. The two lovebirds had even planned a destination wedding in September-end and their family had even started preparing for their D-Day.

“We had planned a destination wedding in September-end and almost everything, including the venue, was finalised. We were all set to zero in on a date when the pandemic hit. Both our families had started preparing for the big day. James’ family doesn’t travel and so, his parents don’t even have a passport. We had asked them to initiate the paperwork and get their passports made. However, the plan is on hold for now, as I don’t think it will be safe to travel around that time,” Shama told Times Of India.

Shama Sikander and James Milliron got engaged in 2016, after a year of courtship. They are worried about his parents, who live in the US as it has witnessed a surge in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases. Shama’s fiancé, who is a businessman, is currently living with her in Mumbai.

“James is with me in Mumbai, and his parents are alone there. We are worried about them, as they are old and his father was unwell around four months ago. We are constantly in touch with them,” the actress told the daily.

The couple is spending quality time amid the Coronavirus lockdown and the small screen diva feels fortunate that her beau is with her during such times.

On the professional front, Shama Sikander has also worked in TV shows like 'Seven' and 'Baal Veer'. She has featured in web series like 'Maaya' and Ab Dil Ki Sunn'. She is known for setting the internet on fire with her stunning pictures.

Interestingly, Ali Faizal and Richa Chadha have also postponed their wedding, keeping in mind the COVID-19 crisis. The two Bollywood stars were supposed to tie the knot in April 2020.
