Fans Think Uorfi Javed Inspired Met Gala Looks, Call Her 'Total MET Material'

Uorfi Javed's recent looks are catching fans' attention for thier Met Gala-feel and drawing appreciation from the likes of filmmaker-producer Karan Johar.

New Delhi: Met Gala 2024 is on everyone's mind and news feed. While many Indian fans are taking pride in Alia Bhatt's Sabyasachi saree look at the Met Gala, it seems a section of the audience on Reddit and Instagram thinks otherwise. Uorfi Javed's recent looks are catching fans' attention and drawing appreciation from the likes of filmmaker-producer Karan Johar. Many fans on social media platforms have time and again pointed that many of Uorfi Javed's DIY designs seem to have inspired the likes of many celebs for their Met Gala looks.

A user on Reddit shared Uorfi Javed's latest look in a black off shoulder gown with leaves and yellow flowers that seems to go well with this year's Met Gala theme: Garden of Time.

On Reddit, where a reel from Instagram was reshared, a user wrote, "Even I liked it. I wonder why it never got that much engagement on social media. Yes, she wears hideous clothes but this one was nice. It would have been on vogue front cover had that Ryan reynold’s wife or zendaya had worn.."

Another wrote, "Man, I have to say she is very beautiful. Sad to see some of these women being deprived of the opportunities and have to resort to unconventional ways for being in the public eye.”

A Redditor called Uorfi Javed MET material and said she would have been valued better in another country. "Urfi is a total MET material honestly. She recieves criticism here (i dont like some of her outfits either) because of the difference of culture and conservativeness. But the looks she does is totally "welcome to district-1/ Capitol" vibes, which is very coherent to MET themes and outfits. I mean its just rich people with awfully experimental designs coming together at the gala."

While another fan also called her black gown a 'mechanical innovation' with no thought put into 'design or cut'.

Another user wrote on Reddit, "She is making these on a drastically lower budget in comparison to what these high end designers would be able to elevate with more resources (design and fabric wise). If urfi is given same access to designers as say Alia is getting as of this moment at Met, urfi would have actually stood out authentically without any external push just on her own merit atleast interms of the kind of dress or out there designs she wears."

Meanwhile, a fashion police account, which goes by the name of Diet Sabya, also shared two images of Uorfi Javed's outfits and how internationally, similar dresses looked on celebs of maganimous stature.

On Diet Sabya's post, Karan Johar posted, "This is huge♥️ well done URFI!❤️," while Orry wrote, "Urfi >>>>>>>>>>."

An Instagram user wrote, "Urfi is just living in the wrong country..she would have been appreciated if she was living in us or somewhere else."

"Urfi should work in a couture. She's really talented and has mad scope. Her latest butterfly live dress was giving," a user wrote.

Uorfi's outfits seemed to have inspired those at Met Gala's and this comes as a huge compliment to the popular socialite who almost always DIYs her looks and makes a statement with them.
